Aquatic Invasive Species

TAKE ACTION CLEAN - DRAIN - DRY

Aquatic invasive species are species that are not native to Minnesota and cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.  Many lakes and rivers in Minnesota are infested with AIS.  The Pennington SWCD has received funding from the state to inform and educate the public on the prevention and spread of AIS.  Although there are no infested waters in Pennington County, boaters and outdoorsman should be aware of infested waters and what to do to prevent the spread of AIS.

CLEAN

your water craft and other aquatic recreation equipment.

DRAIN

all water from your boat and other equipment.

DRY

for at least 5 days before transporting to another water body.

DISPOSE

of unused bait into a nearby garbage can or dumpster.
