Outdoor Education Day

The Pennington SWCD sponsors an Outdoor Education Day for area 6th graders at Oakland Park every September.  Hands-on activities teach the students about the environment and our natural resources. During the course of the day, the students create edible landfills, taste glaciers, and take the incredible journey of a water drop.  Other activities include a deer population game, tree bingo, aquatic invasive species, trapping, casting, minnow races, water hauling relay and archery.  This year, 202 students from Goodridge, Grygla, St. John's, and Franklin Middle School participate in this fun educational day.
